Sarah Wagner’s Hardwired Humanity, released earlier this year, is a wonderful compilation of short stories full of drama and superb imagery. With stories as short as two pages long, even someone with ADHD would have no trouble immersing themselves into the worlds Wagner creates.... Hardwired Humanity makes great easy reading for those who like their books to fit their busy lifestyle. Wagner’s use of descriptors is stunning in all of these stories. Full Text

The story excerpted on the webpage is worth the cover price alone. And yet, there’s so much more to enjoy. Her first story struck me as a more mature version of something out of a Heavy Metal movie. Her scenes are clearly enough depicted to recall numerous movies, and yet her pacing never lags for overabundant description. “Shadow” is likely the best novelette I’ve read this year.
Sarah Wagner kept me holding onto every word as I anticipated the next bend in the story. If you like excitement from the very beginning with details thrown in as you go, than this book is for you. Life like characters in a realistic technological setting hints at the possibilities of this happening, for real, in our world today. Well written from the start.
You’ll enjoy Hardwired Humanity.
